Jiten Hazarika - Biography

Jiten Hazarika, had a very unlikely career before he retired prematurely to dedicate himself to painting. Jiten was a Colonel in the Indian Army. In his paintings he brings out the travails and concerns of rural life. He has made the oppression of women and village folk a theme of his recent paintings. The faces of the subjects portray their solemn mood in dealing with their life and situation.
